Taking a dive into the fjord at Standal can be a chilly experience. A quick dip in the mountain lakes and streams is refreshing on a hot day, but you can’t stay in for long. However, the bathing area at "Standalvatnet", right next to the cabin complex, has the highest water temperature in the area.

In the summer of 2006, we measured a peak temperature of 21.5 degrees Celsius, which is 0,5 degrees more than Huk! (a well known beach on the outskirts of Oslo) Here, we have placed out a wooden jetty straight out from a south-facing beach, which is well concealed by the terrain and vegetation. We are planning expansion and improvement of the beach area.

By the jetty, we also have plans to build a mountain sauna for the cabin complex. We are also considering building a sauna by the fjord.
