In this project, you will be part of a unique environment. Here, you can have a cabin on the mountain, with summer and winter hiking / skiing opportunities, and the chance to bath in the crystal clear waters of Standalvann. Furthermore, it is only 10 mins down to the fjord by bicyle where you can rent a boat of store your own. The developers are offering a full boat service including 'putting out', 'taking in' and winter storage of small boats, plus administration and positioning of bouys and channels. In the long term, devleopment of a harbour, restaurant, shops and various services is planned.
The developers, Standal Alpesenter AS, wish to develop numerous services and experiences. We can mention, amongst other things, summer and winter hiking, skiing trips, mountain climbing horse riding, fishing trips on the fjord and in fresh water plus transportation to the alpine centre at Bondalseidet.
Activities in and around Standalhytta «Standal Cabin», Sætra and the Red Cross cabin, will make this a very attractive place to live. What makes the project so unique, is the proximity of mountains to fjord. Our goal is for Standal to be a natural centre for experiences of the Sunnmøre Alps and Hjørund fjord.
The cabins and plots are planned at Standaleidet, in the vicinity of Standalhytta (Standal Ski Lodge). The road over the mountain has been upgraded in recent years, and is now classified as an "All-Year-Round" road. This area is the starting point for hiking up to some of the most well known peeks in the Sunnmøre Alps. You can find hiking routes suitable for children and the more experienced “off slope skiers” and mountain climbers. Here you can find peace and tranqulity, in a unique environment. The developers have built a high standard water and sewerage-system. Pipes for communication cables are laid to each individual plot. This will make it easy to connect to optical fibre cables that probably will be laid to the cabin complex area in a couple of years.
A management company has been formed which takes care of snow ploughing, wood delivery, security services, cabin customization consultations, winter storage of boats and alarm services. The management company will also build, own and rent out a number of cabins at Standaleidet and the marina.
Union Hotell at Øye is a must see. During the 1900's, dignatories from all over Europe, including the nordic royal families, and Keiser Wilhem I. Keiser Wilhelm and his architechts helped to rebuild the town of Ålesund after it was destroyed by fire in 1904.
You can see the Jugend town of Ålesund or te bird island at Runde, which are both within one hours drive. Geiranger, West cape, “The atlantic road” and Trollstigen are also within range for a day trip.
To Standal, it is a short distance from many places in Sunnmøre. Ålesund, Ulsteinvik, Haired and Fosnavåg are all within an hours drive. From Ørsta and Volda, it takes only 30 mins to drive.
